"I fell for Casper Townsend the minute I laid eyes on that 'gator wrestling rascal'. Bet you will too.
At his Lake Forest Park roadside attraction you'll find him playing central casting's good ol' boy, insisting fried alligator virgins have a complimentary bite of the house specialty. His menu's long on frog legs, fried peppers, fat shrimp and beignets borne from a cloud, but "hush"! puppies.
Don't be missing those mighty slow smoked ribs ($14.45 as a "supper plate") dripping with a sassy sauce and delivered by friendly staffers - or Casper himself - who joke "'dentures are optional." Come rain or come shine, set yourself up in the sprawling room- with-a-view; a tented year-round patio overlooking Lake Washington.

Hey, Casper,
Just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed meeting and chatting with you at your new location last night. It was nice to "put a face" to the name, and meet a local celebrity!
Our dinners were delicious, and even though we ate until it came out of our ears, we were lucky enough to have leftovers for lunch today!
My catfish was superb! I hate people who overcook fish, but not only was yours cooked perfectly, but not over breaded or overpoweringly spiced. Loved the rub! The sweet potato fries were to die for, especially when dipped in my leftover gator dipping sauce (which I had hoarded.) I also liked the little surprise of apple in the cole slaw.
Michael raved about the pulled pork sandwich (as did I when I grabbed tastes from it) and thought the cornbread was the best he had ever tasted. And he does not give high praise easily, especially when it comes to pulled pork & ribs.
I've signed up to be on your mailing list so we can be kept notified about all upcoming events - especially the crawfish boil. I can't wait for that! It's SO hard to get crawfish in Seattle.
We will definitely be back for more food - I'm already trying to decide what I want to try next.
Thanks for great dinners, and a chance to talk to you.
Daphne and Michael Taylor

More From our customers:
9/20/2009 "Hi, I came in to your restaurant today for the first time after almost half a year of driving by and being so tempted to stop. Today, however, I was craving BBQ pulled pork. I must say that I love Southern food. When I saw that you have gator, catfish, fried collard greens, hush puppies, and beignets, I was completely blown away. I've been waiting for a real bbq joint in North Seattle for a long time and your food is exactly what I've been looking for. Your pulled pork is heavenly. Portion size is perfect (not too big you can't eat it all in one meal with your sides, and not so small you're wondering where the pork is.) Really digging the green apple in the coleslaw too.
Anyways, I just wanted to tell you guys that you are fantastic and I plan on returning again and again and again! Thank you for really making my day. Stephanie." |
